The Greatest Zombie Movies of All Time

I have a small confession to make here. There are two genres of movies I can’t get enough off. End of the world movies, and the other Zombie movies; partly to do with the fact that I like to be prepared for all eventualities especially if the world becomes one big Zombie Land!

This is not a top ten or top twenty, but the best I have seen and lessons learnt and earth shattering questions it answers.

Zombieland (2009)

About a kid, who is always prepared with a set of rules. He lives by them, and gives him a chance to survive.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

There is a group holding out to Zombies and even goes on killing sprees. The Zombies decide to fight back!

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

George A Romero’s classic Zombie Movie. One that started it all with this master piece!

Another classic by George A Romero; a prom night becomes a zombie nightmare!

I am Legend (2007)

Remake of the earlier Last man on Earth and Omega Man. A must watch for Movie Buffs!

Return of the Living Dead (1985)

Sequel to the mind blowing ‘Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Zombie Teamwork:  Medium, they can speak as well. Though they attack alone, they can soon smell blood and come hounding!

Shaun of the Dead (2004)

An Australian Comedy with lots of Zombies! Brilliant comic timing, and amazing work with the Zombies.

Quarantine (2008)

An awesome thriller with the TV Camera quarantined in a building. The government knows it, the army does as well; but no help!

The Last Man on Earth (1964)

An old classic starring Vincent Prince, what later got made into Omega Man and I am Legend.

Defining Moment: The last surviving man on earth is killed by a group of people who are part Zombie and part human who survive on booster shots to stay human.

Diary of the Dead (2007)

While the world is turning into one big Zombie harvest, a group of students of cinema and theater go on filming the zombies, and their encounter to make their own version of reality cinema.

    A good list. The Last Man On Earth doesn’t make it onto many peoples lists. Most people say resident evil and dawn of the dead.

    LMOE is a great film. The Omega Man was also great.

    OOOO…..all that talk of dead ppl dancing around sounds so eeerie! Don’t think I ll pick any more. I ve seen only I am Legend and it certainly was something!
